Earlier this summer, Third Verb was presented with an exciting publishing opportunity.
Naturally, we were thrilled.
About the project: Jason Lee Norman has taken the plain cardboard coffee sleeves (the kind you usually just toss into the recycling bin) and printed them with stories submitted by Edmonton and area writers. It’s a cool project and it’s been going on for a while now. It’s a chance to encounter a short, short story in an unexpected place, and it makes something disposable into art.
In July we put the call out to all our past workshop participants to submit their very best stories, which could only be a maximum of 150-words. Folks from our Writing Short, Short Stories, Crafting Strong Scenes, and Poetry: The Art of Connection workshop sent in their work so Jason could select those that best fit his sleeve project.
On August 18, the successful story-sleeve writers were announced.
We would like to congratulate Third Verb participants Graham Bell, Jessica Johns, Nicole Moeller, Cynthia Scott Wandler, and Erin McCarty whose fabulous flash stories were selected for publication on the sleeves!
We look forward to reading them when they are available in coffee shops.
Visit participating coffee shops this fall to find their stories wrapped around your warm cuppa joe!
